CLUB 33

Never heard of Club 33? You're not alone — but we're here to dish about Disney's super-exclusive, private club.  Here's everything you need to know!

How long has Club 33 been around?

Walt Disney envisioned it as a VIP lounge for corporate sponsors during the 1964 World's Fair. After Walt's death, Disney execs reimagined it as a members-only club.

Why was it named  Club 33?

The official story is that it was named for it’s original address: 33 Royal Street in New Orleans Square. Others speculate that there were 33 original members — and others  think that it comes from "mm" for Mickey Mouse flipped around.

Just how exclusive is Club 33?

There are only 500 members at any time and  you must be invited by a current member or inherit membership through family. Famous members include Tom Hanks, Christina Aguilera and Johnny Depp!

How much does it cost?

IF you are accepted, you will need to pay an initial membership fee ($30K at Disneyland and $33K at Disney World) plus an annual fee ($12K/year at Disneyland and $15K/year at Disney World).

What are some perks?

— Passholder Status in  Disneyland and Disney World. — Admission to Disneyland and Disney World every day of the year. — Free parking. — Access to all Club 33 lounges.  Just to name a few!
