Mickey Mouse-Shaped Beignets: Official Disney Recipe

One of the most sought after treats at Walt Disney World is the Mickey Mouse beignet. These are top notch, delicious, and can only be found at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter resort.

For many of us, these beignets start off our Disney vacation. We arrive at our resort and immediately make our way to Port Orleans to enjoy a warm Mickey shaped beignet with some amazing dipping sauce.

Now, thanks to Disney, we can enjoy a taste of Walt Disney World at home! Disney has released their official beignet recipe.

We recently made these beignets – and while nothing can beat a warm beignet at the French Quarter, this is a close second!

Recipe Tips

  • We used a slotted spoon to get the beignets out of the oil. It seemed like we were able to get a bit extra oil to drip back down into the pan.
  • The easiest way to dust the beignets is to use a sifter or a colander. If using a mesh colander simply drop some powdered sugar in the bowl and tap the sides.

  • These are best when eaten immediately, however, they still taste good a day or two later! We recommend putting them in the microwave for a few seconds and serving with a cup of coffee. The powdered sugar will melt into the beignet over the next day but you still can taste the sweet flavor.
  • You can make these beignets in any shape you want, but the Mickey Mouse shape puffs up perfectly in the oil. You can get Mickey Mouse cookie cutters here:
