It is easy to find Disney packing lists! These lists have all the basic things you should bring – good walking shoes, Tylenol, sunscreen, rain ponchos. After our last trip to Disney World we realized there are a ton of unique things to bring to Disney World that you should consider!
We compiled a list of things that you should consider packing. Of course, these are not necessary, but depending upon your personal situation these can make or break your trip.
23 Unique Things T0 Bring To Disney World
Here are things you should bring but you wouldn’t think of.

1. Liquid IV
This is number one on our list for good reason. On our last trip we did not drink enough water on the first day and got quite dehydrated. The remainder of our trip we filled our water bottle, dumped in a Liquid IV, and chugged it down before we even had a cup of coffee. It made a huge difference!
We recommend packing one serving per day, per adult. Kids can probably share a packet between smaller water bottles. These are also great to keep at home if you get sick and need some electrolytes, or after a sporting event!

2. Epsom Salt Gel
I got the Disney Rash on our last trip and this Epsom Salt Gel came in clutch. It provided extra relief to my swollen legs and feet. Put this on your feet when you get back to the hotel and prop your feet up on a pillow for 15 minutes. You’ll thank us later.
3. Body Glide
If you are going to Disney World in the summer this is something you should consider bringing. Put this on any body part (thighs, upper arms, back of armpits…anywhere!!) that needs it to prevent chafing. We are all about prevention!
4. Diaper Rash Ointment
If you do happen to get chafing it can quickly ruin your day. You don’t want to sit around in your hotel because it hurts too much to walk. Purchase some diaper rash ointment and keep it in your backpack.
At the first sign of chafing put a generous amount on the spot and cover it with a bandage, if possible. Once you are back in your hotel cover the chafing with the ointment. It should be significantly better in the morning!
5. Body Lotion
Did you know that the Disney Value hotels don’t have lotion available in the rooms? We didn’t know that – until we showed up at POP Century and there was no body lotion. There also wasn’t any available to purchase.
6. Sound Machine or Sound Machine App
We highly recommend bring a small sound machine or downloading a sound machine app. This is especially important if you have young children sharing your hotel room! There is no tired like Disney tired….unless you are Disney tired AND have a kid who keeps waking up at night due to strange noises.
7. Charging power strip
Most of the Disney hotel rooms have quite a few charging ports, but you may want to consider bringing at least one power strip. Jen and I used almost all the outlets on our last trip with just the two of us.
We had to charge our portable charging banks, our phones, our watches, our MagicBands, and Jen’s camera batteries. If we had our husbands with us there is no way we would have had enough outlets.
8. Ziplock Bags
These take up almost no room in your bag but you’ll be glad you brought some! Bring a variety of sizes. You can use ziplock bags for storing wet socks in your backpack, leftover food and snacks, keeping your cell phone dry on water rides, and bringing wet swimsuits home in your suitcase.
9. External Hard drive
On our last trip we took so many pictures that we used up all our memory on our phones AND laptops. Having an external hard drive would have made life much less stressful so we could deal with the photos when we got home, not on our trip.
10. Instant Coffee (Starbucks Via)
If you are coffee addicts like us the thought of drinking instant coffee kind of grosses us out. That being said, we’d rather have inexpensive instant coffee rather than spending time and money at a coffee shop in the Disney Parks or at your hotel.
Dark Roast Coffee—Italian Roast—100% Arabica—1 box (50 packets)
11. Nightlight
If you have anyone in your family who gets up at night to use the bathroom or little kids (or big kids for that matter) who are afraid of the dark, this is a must have! We always travel with night lights for my little kids!

12. Compression Socks
Compression socks can prevent the Disney Rash and other foot problems. They might not be the most fashion forward, but being pain free is more important. At bare minimum consider putting these on when you get back to your hotel if you have any foot or leg issues at all.
- A Durable Compression Sock designed to last, without compromising quality or Comfort.
- Quality stitched & easy to get on even though they are a compression sock!
- Wash well without losing compression keeping all the Excellent vascular toning benefits.
- The compression and support are perfectly located on the heel foot calves so the toe area wont squeeze your toe joints.
- Provides instant comfort support, with moisture wicking properties that rapidly air dry in a few hours.
13. Poo-pourri
When you have a full hotel room for a week, toilet spray can make everyone much happier. Trust us on this one.
14. Scissors
A travel pair of scissors may seem like a dumb item, but you’ll be glad you had one with you when you try to open that new toy you bought your child from the parks! These are also handy for cutting up Moleskin strips (on our necessity list).
TSA-Compliant and Portable - Stainless Steel Blades and Blue Handles
15. Clip Hangers
Clip hangers are going to be a life saver for you! These are perfect for hanging up wet swim suits so they are ready for you for the next swim. There really is nothing worse than trying to wrangle a cold, damp suit on a toddler (or yourself!)
16. Immodium
We really hope you don’t need this. If you happen to get food poisoning or something just isn’t sitting right with you you will be so happy you have this. Be sure to put Immodium in your park bag. If you get the tummy rumbles after lunch you’ll be happy to have it along.
17. Preparation-H
This is another item that we hope you don’t need, but sweat causes problems in all sorts of areas you weren’t anticipating. Preparation-H is another item we highly suggest putting in your Disney backpack – especially in the summer months.
18. Foot Massager Ball
Your biggest aches and pains will be in your feet. If you have the space to throw in a foot massager ball it can really help relieve discomfort and get you ready for the next day. You can also use a golf ball!
19. Blow Up Cooler
Most of the hotel rooms at the Disney Resorts have coolers, not actual refrigerators. This also means they don’t have freezers available either. One way to combat this issue is to bring a blow up cooler and fill it with ice from the ice machine!
20. Over the Door Organizer
If there is anything you can do to add a little extra space and organization to your hotel room, do it. An over the door organizer is a great way to help without adding too much extra bulk to your suitcase. This is a perfect way to store your kids’ clothes for the next day or all your extra shoes!
21. Moisture Wicking Socks and Underwear
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure…and moisture wicking socks and underwear are in that category! We are big fans of Darn Tough socks. Yes, they are expensive but they have a lifetime warranty and are made in the USA.
You also should consider moisture wicking underwear. It is hotter and more humid than you can even imagine in the summer in Orlando – you’ll be glad you wore them.
- Ultra Lightweight with Cushion - Provides a light layer of cushioning along the bottom of the foot. Ultra-Light, ultra-comfortable.
- No Show Tab Height - The toughest sock you’ll never see.

22. Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad
Speaking of it being hot in Orlando, the Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad is the item that most summer visitors can’t live without! Get this wet, wring it out, and somehow it cools you without the annoying dripping. Its dry…but its wet…its basically magical and perfect for Disney.
23. Caffeine Mints
When you are dragging in the middle of the afternoon pop a caffeine mint in your mouth for that extra jolt. These are especially helpful for when you are standing in line for your favorite attraction and don’t have the opportunity to go purchase something caffeinated.
There you have it! Are there any items that you think we forgot? One additional note – if you are prone to motion sickness we recommend bringing some remedies in case you happen to get sick while on a ride.
If you are looking for more packing advice, be sure to check out our recommendations of what to put in your park bag. We highly recommend printing off a checklist for each day. We forgot our sunglasses one day at the hotel and it really put a damper on the sunny afternoon! If you have AirTags we have 7 great ways to use them on your Disney vacation!
